Many years ago, I recall standing Blackburn Market as my Saturday school job.
Mary, Tommy's wife also stood with second shoes, which Tommy was out and about shrewdly buying - my boss was jealous of that crowded stall!

Many years later when I was travelling about the country, and told folk I came from Blackburn, they would say 'that's Tommy Ball's town isn't it?'

Tommy ball..LOL!..a popular guy in town,allways wanted to buy the whole pub a drink,i could never bring myself to take one and i have no idea what-so-ever why he would want to do that anyhow,but it does take all sorts to make the world go round.
