My pal Tommy helped to put us on the map

Tommy Ball was always a good friend to me.

Many years ago, I recall standing Blackburn Market as my Saturday school job.

Mary, Tommy's wife also stood with second shoes, which Tommy was out and about shrewdly buying - my boss was jealous of that crowded stall!

Many years later when I was travelling about the country, and told folk I came from Blackburn, they would say 'that's Tommy Ball's town isn't it?' He certainly put us on the map. Cheers Tommy.

You mean he gave you a ton of cash to buy the Lodestar.

Is it true that Tommy Ball did three years in prison for stealing a van load of shoes.

When he came out he got a stall on Blackburn Market.
