Bring back the good old days

UNLESS you've been living under a rock for the last few weeks you'll know that Gladiators is coming back this weekend.

Brilliant. I can hardly wait. I'm even contemplating fashioning myself a giant foam finger out of our bath sponge in preparation.

I'm glad "retro" is in at the moment.

It was only a matter of time before we realised that modern things are rubbish (skinny lattes, city apartment blocks, acrylic fingernails, congestion charging, and mobile phones which fry your brain, to name but a few) and that we were all much happier in the good old days.

So it's time to swallow our pride and step back in time.

Others things I'd like to bring back: Brookside, Mr Wimpey, Top of the Pops on Thursday nights (to watch while eating a chippy tea) and Little Chef lollies.

Any other ideas? Maybe we can get a petition together?

Bring back Tony Wilson's 'after dark' series it was great. People communicating is still such a beautiful thing.

And those Giant foamy fingers - I can hardly wait!
