Clarets duo secure loan move
YOUNG Burnley duo Joe Jackson and Tom Anderson have joined Blue Square Premier side AFC Barrow on loan until January. The teenagers have been reunited with former Clarets coach Ashley Hoskin ahead of the Bluebirds' opening league game of the season against AFC Telford on Saturday. Jackson, who signed professional terms at Turf Moor last summer, returns to his hometown club for a second loan spell after a three-month stint at the end of last season. The 19-year-old scored three times in eight appearances for the Cumbrian club before being re-called by the Clarets to make his senior debut as a substitute at Blackpool in April. Anderson’s move is his first away from Turf Moor after coming through the Clarets’ youth ranks. The big defender was a key member of Burnley’s successful youth team last season and a regular at reserve level before having his season cut short by a bout of glandular fever. However, the 18-year-old was offered a professional contract and signed in the summer. The pair will join forces again with former Burnley team-mate Alex-Ray Harvey, who has signed a 12-month deal at Barrow following a successful loan spell from the Clarets last season. read more
