EDWARD LAWRENCE HAMMOND Local actor takes his final curtain Edward Lawrence Hammond, 76 of Observatory Road, Blackburn passed away peacefully surrounded by his family after a short battle with cancer at Andrews Care Home, Livesey Branch Road, Blackburn on Wednesday 7th February. An Aircraft Engineer by trade, Eddie found his passion on the stage and enjoyed 50 years of his life gracing many local stages in particular at Blackburn Arts Club, winning numerous awards and nominations in his time. Eddie was loved and well regarded by many, not only for his acting prowess but also for his warm heart and his charming character. Eddie, much loved father to Beverley, Duncan & Lee, husband to June, Brother to Bernard, Michael, Phillip and the late Neil, brother-in-law, father-in-law, grandfather and uncle. He will be sorely missed.
