ANNIE O'DOHERTY (nee McGonagle) Peacefully on Sunday 16th October 2016, at home, surrounded by her loving family, fortified by the Rites of the Holy Mother Church, Annie aged 95 years. The dearly loved wife of the late Seamus O’Doherty, a much loved mother of Elizabeth, Joseph, Seamus, Siobhan, Thomas, Dominic and Brendan; respected mother-in-law to their spouses and partners; devoted and loving ‘Grannie Annie’ to twenty-one grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren; survived by her dearly loved sisters, Bridie (Blackburn) and Julia (U.S.A), and also a dear auntie and great auntie to many. Annie will be sadly missed by her loving family and friends. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart & St Edward’s R.C. Church, Darwen on Thursday 27th October 2016 at 11.00am prior to a burial at Pleasington Cemetery. Reposing in the Chapel of Rest, Broomfield Place, Witton. Please wear something colourful, particularly green. Family flowers only or, if so desired, donations may be made in memory of Annie to Dementia UK c/o The Alty Funeral Service. Enq. It was a joy to visit Annie on Sundays with Holy Communion. I will miss seeing her but feel sure she will be looking down on us.RIP
