LUKAS Jutkiewicz scored his sixth pre-season goal in as many games to send Burnley into the Premier League on a winning note.

The Clarets came back from behind to beat Verona 3-1 at Turf Moor.

Lazaros Christodoulopoulos put the Italians in front a minute into the second half after a goalless first 45 minutes.

But Matt Taylor cancelled it out just a minute later with an instinctive finish from Danny Ings' ball.

Luca Toni brought a save from Heaton as Verona looked to get back on the front foot quickly.

But Burnley began to get more of a foothold on the game and turned their pressure into a second goal.

Summer signing Jutkiewicz has been a hit since his arrival from Middlesbrough last month, and goes into the Premier League campaign as the Clarets' pre-season top scorer.

His sixth came courtesy of a header from Ben Mee's cross.

It was to be Jutkiewicz's last taste of action in this game as he was replaced by Marvin Sordell, but it was not an end to the goals.

Ings was unlucky not to get his name on the scoresheet - denied by two expert saves from Rafael De Andrade - but the goalkeeper was helpless to stop second half substitute Ross Wallace completing the win direct from a free kick.
