Colourful has so far found maiden company beyond her but the Love Travel, Love Trailfinders Fillies' Handicap at Windsor provides an excellent chance to get a first win on the board.

As a half-sister to the likes of Powerscourt and Riposte, as well as Frankel's dam Kind, connections will clearly be eager to get a racecourse victory to enhance her already not inconsiderable paddock value.

In the care of Lady Cecil, Colourful was far from disgraced on her first couple of starts, finishing fourth on the Kempton all-weather first time up before losing out by just a head on her next outing at Lingfield.

Switched to turf at Doncaster last month, Colourful was sent off favourite to land a first success on grass but had to be content with merely a distant third behind Galactic Heroine.

Beaten just over nine lengths, Colourful still looked a bit green on Town Moor and will surely have learnt plenty for her experience which should stand her in good stead.

The second that day has subsequently scored and given Colourful's rating of 76, the handicapper has given her a good chance to bag a first success.

Mr McLaren can prove the star of the show at Beverley by landing the Weatherbys Stallion Book Handicap.

He hit the jackpot at the second time of asking for David O'Meara, looking a useful prospect as he claimed a competitive little heat with more than a touch in hand.

However, Mr McLaren could not follow up on that success at Newcastle on his most recent run, just being outstayed on his first try over seven furlongs.

O'Meara sticks at that trip here and Mr McLaren still rates as a useful contender.

Scott Dixon is clearly keen to win the Richard And Carol Hudson Handicap as he fields four runners in the five-furlong contest.

Despite his low draw, Cadeaux Pearl makes most appeal of the Dixon team after his recent course and distance success.

Real Jazz can make the long trip from Newmarket pay dividends with victory in the Happy 60th Birthday Iain Ferguson Handicap at Ayr.

Sir Mark Prescott has made his usual late start to the year and while he has not been clocking up masses of winners, plenty have run well enough in defeat to suggest the yard is beginning to fire.

This filly looked thoroughly in need of her seasonal return at Chepstow earlier this month, being slowly away before keeping on without ever looking likely to have the necessary winning change of gear.

That outing should have sparked plenty of improvement, though, and she has every chance on stepping up on that second spot.

Monita Bonita can strike gold in the Willow Water Mares' Handicap Hurdle at Cartmel.
