ACCRINGTON Panthers claimed a 28-14 win over North West Rugby League Division Two leaders Culcheth Eagles in one of the most entertaining games of the season.

Culcheth had only previously lost one game all season but found themselves more than matched in every department.

The Panthers had a score to settle after losing by one point to the Eagles earlier in the season.

Try of the match came from lively winger Matty Tindall, who chipped the ball over the defenders head on his own 20, to then stepped past another three defenders to score under the sticks.

Man of the match Ash O’Rourke, Leon Fifield and Josh Day also crossed during the game.

Accrington Panthers’ under 18s suffered a 62-0 defeat to Westhoughton Lions, while Accrington Wildcats under 14s were edged out 22-18 by Ince Rose Bridge.
