BURNLEY have signed winger Michael Kightly on a three-year deal from Stoke City, for a fee believed to be £1.5million. The 28-year-old had an impact in the Clarets clinching promotion to the Premier League on his season-long loan at Turf Moor last term - scoring five goals in 38 games, including key strikes against Blackpool and Wigan Athletic. Kightly becomes manager Sean Dyche's first summer signing as he prepares for top flight football. “As soon as we secured promotion to the Premier League last season, I wanted to make sure that I signed," he said. “Coming in on loan is usually difficult but it only took a few weeks here to get settled and it is great to be a permanent Burnley player now as opposed to a loanee. “It took a while to get it over the line but now it is all secured I’m really pleased.”
