WINGER Junior Stanislas has signed for AFC Bournemouth on a three-year deal, after turning down the chance of Premier League football with Burnley.

The 24-year-old was offered new terms at Turf Moor after helping the Clarets secure automatic promotion from the Championship.

But after finding regular first team football hard to come by last season Stanislas has instead opted for a reunion with former Burnley boss Eddie Howe at Bournemouth.

Stanislas was brought to Burnley from West Ham by Howe in August 2011.

He is most likely to be remembered by Clarets fans for his opening goal in the 1-1 derby draw with rivals Blackburn Rovers last September.

Of his Turf Moor exit Stanislas said: “After careful deliberation I have decided to turn down the offer of a contract extension with Burnley Football Club and move on to pastures new.

“I would like to thank the Burnley fans for their support over the three years. The crowd reaction after I scored against Blackburn will live with me forever.

“I wish my team-mates, the fans and all the staff every success for the coming season in the Premier League.”
