THE Harry Dewhurst Memorial Football League will carry on next season after attracting new teams.

The Hyndburn-based league has recruited five teams to add to the existing five but is still hoping to attract two more to take the total up to 12.

There will be free registration for any new team and also free affiliation to the LFA.

The league, founded in 1984, has struggled in recent seasons and has twice come close to folding before its two previous campaigns.

But the new initiative to help attract news club has proved successful and is now hoping for two more teams to make the league more competitive next season.

Any teams wishing to join contact Adrian McCormack on 07756 383761.
