TOMORDEN teenager Megan Shackleton has been included in the GB Table Tennis Performance Squad.

The 15-year-old is the youngest in the GB Para Table Tennis Team’s most promising young players who will compete in the Romania International Open in Cluj from June 12-15.

She followed Burnley’s Felicity Pickard in to hte GB Para Table Tennis Team’s Podium Potential Programme – the class six player who represented GB in the European Championships last year.

Megan, a class four player, is joined in the squad by Gloucestershire teenager Billy Shilton, who won his first international gold medal in the men’s class 7 team event in the Slovenia Open last month Five other members of the GB Pathway Squad including are also in the squad – 21-year-old Welshman Thomas Matthews, Lucie Bouron (Class 3) from Bracknell, Lawrence John, 15, (Class 10) from Swansea, Conor Gordon, 18, (Class 9) from Falkirk and 20-year-old Martin Perry (Class 6) from Paisley.

“These players are already showing great potential for the future,” said GB Performance Director Gorazd Vecko, “And at this stage it is all about gaining more experience at international level.”
