PAUL Sutcliffe and Paul Brett producing an outstanding display of bowling to successfully defend the Rishton Con Club £500 doubles on Saturday in glorious conditions.
The finals night saw eight pairs play down to the final and there was to be stopping the two Pauls who, in the final played some outstanding corner bowling retain their title beating the unlucky pair of Malcolm Wensley and Jack Kerr 21-1.
Sutcliffe and Brett beat D Shawforth and G Emmis 21-7 in the quarter final then beat T Chiney and A Tate 21-8 in the semi finals.
