IAN Wilkinson continued his strong early season form at the Tour of Reservoir which saw Haribo Beacon star Pete Williams admitted to hospital after a crash.
Williams came down on the final day of the two-day event and the race was halted while he was taken to hospital in an air ambulance.
Thankfully the Haribo Beacon rider, whose team are based in Whalley, was able to walk to the ambulance after initial treatment and is now making a recovery.
The race was won by Madison Genesis ace Alex Peters but Wilkinson, riding for Raleigh, finished third in the second stage and 11th overall.
Peters took victory in stage one and preserved his lead on day two with his fifth place finish enough for the overall title and victory in the opening round of the British Cycling Elite Road Series.
Wilkinson’s Raleigh team-mate Evan Oliphant took victory on stage two of the race in Northumberland.
