BLACKBURN Rovers are waiting to discover whether Dickson Etuhu has suffered a fresh injury setback.

The midfielder limped off at the end of Tuesday’s 2-0 home win over QPR after his introduction as an 85th-minute substitute.

Etuhu, who also made a late cameo off the bench in Saturday’s 2-0 home victory over Ipswich Town, complained of pain in his hamstring and is currently undergoing medical assessment.

The Nigeria international made just one appearance for Rovers last year after a serious knee injury ruled him out for 11 months.

But shortly after making his comeback in November’s 3-0 defeat at Brighton and Hove Albion, Etuhu sustained ankle-ligament damage following an accidental training ground clash with Leon Best.

Strikers Jordan Rhodes and Rudy Gestede also appeared to pick up knocks in the win over QPR but both will be fit for the weekend trip to Sheffield Wendesday.
