Burnley secured there place in Raging Bull Division 3 North for another season as they put a solid all-round team performance.

After gaining promotion last season for club’s aim was to consolidate a place in the division which they did with two games to spare.

With new manager Sam Atkin picking a strong team some solid performances from Adam Spencer at ten, Ian Coates in the centre and 18-year-old Thabo Ntini on the wing – plus the pack who pushed the opposition back in many scrums.

And they demonstrated that power up front when Pete Timblelake scored a push over try.

In the first half, some great team play saw the ball fed out to Chris Baxendale who powered over the try line to get the scoreboard ticking.

Burnley commanded the opening period but did not score again so there still plenty to do after the break.

But tries from Paul Mullaband and Timblelake sealed the win for Burnley.

First team coach Simon Finnan, was impressed by what he saw.

“There was tremendous team play and it would be great to see more of this team training in order to push the First team,” he said.

“But also to develop this side as many of this team are young and would be great to push the Seconds to higher level also.
