A LARGE pothole in the road caused punctures to the tyres of more than 30 cars.
It happened on the A675 Belmont Road at about 4pm yesterday and some cars were seriously damaged.
The council was made aware that 30 cars had sustained punctures on A675 Belmont Road, near the boating lake.
The pothole was later repaired and officers are investigating what had caused it.
A council spokesman said: "On our last two full inspections in this location we did not find any defects.
"However, we carried out an emergency repair on clal out as soon as we became aware of the issue.
"A more substantial repair will be done but it is currently safe for children.
"The constant cold weather does create more potholes to manage through the freezing and thawing process."
