A 23-YEAR-OLD man who hit himself over the head with a stone slab during an incident outside his neighbour’s house had been taking cocaine.
Blackburn magistrate heard Kristian Jordan Keenan was quickly back on his feet and threatened to throw another chunk of stone at his neighbour’s van before kicking him in the neck.

Keenan, of Union Road, Oswaldtwistle, pleaded guilty to assaulting John Patrick McKeown. He was remanded on bail for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.
Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said Mr McKeown was watching TV when he heard a disturbance outside. He realised it was his neighbour who was shouting and screaming.
“He was amazed to see him pick up a slab of stone and hit himself over the head,” said Miss Allan. She said Mr McKeown moved his van after the threat was made and was kicked in the neck as he walked past Grunshaw who was standing on some steps.
Gareth Price, defending, said his client lived in accommodation that was provided as part of his employment as a cleaner at a restaurant.
Mr Price said: “My client accepts when Mr McKeown approached, he kicked out at him because he misunderstood his intentions. He has a problem with cocaine.”
