Burnley TV talent show star boosts to fundraising effort for brothers

BRITAIN'S Got Talent star Hollie Steel has given a campaign to buy a special vest for two Burnley brothers a boost.

Hollie, 15, who was born in Burnley but now lives in Huncoat, appeared at The Railway Club, in Rosegrove, at a fundraiser.

Noah McGibbon, eight, plays for Sycamore Juniors Football Club, and the club launched an appeal last year to buy an airway clearance physio vest for him and his brother Jayden, three, who both suffer from cystic fibrosis.

The vest, which costs around £7,000, reduces the need for intensive daily physiotherapy.

With the help of the event at The Railway Club, which featured a sponsored head shave, and music from Hollie and Manchester-based singer Nicole Talmer, the fundraising total stands at £5,985. Since appearing on Britain’s Got Talent, Hollie has released three albums.

She released her sixth single in December 2012 — Fly, which was recorded in Italy with Romina Arena.

The football club has now organised a second event at the Railway Club on Good Friday, featuring music from Elvin Priestley and a performer from Liverpool called Allessandria, as well as a comedy drag act with Ellie Peters from Blackburn.

David White, from Sycamore Juniors, one of the event organisers, said: “It was a great night and we had around 120 people there. Everyone said they enjoyed the evening, which was nice of them.

“It is great knowing we will reach our total and we thank everyone that has given time up and donated to the appeal to help the two young boys.

“Without them we would not have been able to raise the £7,000 they need.”

The event will start at 7pm and finish at 12.30am and tickets, costing £3 each, can be bought from the club or by calling Louise on 07904634276 or David on 07715640417.
