TWO Burnley teenagers involved in trouble after one went out looking for a ‘scrap’ were given community orders.

The town’s crown court heard how a ‘foolish’ 17-year-old had got ‘thoroughly drunk’ and had ended up on the receiving end of some violence after he came across a man, probably older and bigger than him.

The youth, who a judge ordered should not be named, had gone to hospital and had then gone back with support, asking for what he called a real fight and “tooled up” "with iron bars.

Dale Nightingale, 18, was recruited for the second part of the incident but, unlike his co-defendant, he had never broken the law before.

The defendants had admitted affray. The 17-year-old was given an 18 month youth rehabilitation order, with supervision and 150 hours unpaid work. Nightingale, of Piccadilly Road, received a community order, with 12 months supervision and 60 hours unpaid work.
