THIS picture tells a story of employment 1960s style.
In the days of a job for life long service awards were the order of the day and here we have workers at Prospect Mill of Barlow and Jones (Spinners) Limited gathering for a special award.
Long service awards were made to two employees of the firm to mark 40 years' service.
Mrs M E Blears of Sefton House, School Hill received a three-piece suite and Mr W Isherwood of Blackburn Road, Egerton — who completed 41 years' service — received a slide projector and screen.
The presentation was made by Mr L Shires, assistant managing director of the firm.
