OFFICERS investigating a sexual assault are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward – with a CCTV image of the suspect being released.
The incident happened at 9.40pm on Saturday February 28 in the Kings Arms pub in Bleke Street, Shaftesbury.
The victim, a 41-year-old local woman, was standing at the bar when an unknown man approached her and sexually assaulted her. The suspect then briefly spoke to the victim before walking away.
The suspect is described as white, approximately five feet eight inches tall, of medium build and with short brown hair. He was wearing blue jeans, a checked shirt and a hooded top with the zip done up.
Police Constable Simon Rogers, of Shaftesbury police, said: “This incident left the victim distressed and shaken.
“As part of my investigation I am now in a position to release a CCTV image of the suspect.
“I am appealing to anyone who recognises the man pictured to please call me on 101.
“All calls will be treated in strict confidence.”
