Lancashire Telegraph: A celebrity-favourite designer whose shoes are worn by X Factor judge Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, better known as Cheryl Cole, is opening his first shop outside of London in the North-East.

The Leeds man has performed alongside Girls Aloud and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Pink, Rita Ora, and Beyonce, The Wanted, Alexandra Burke, and Lily Allen, and has appeared on shows such as BBC Children In Need and ITV's The X Factor.

His film credits include the documentary Pink: Staying True, and Girls Aloud: Out of Control - Live from the O2.

The 28-year-old said: "I randomly took a dance class when I was around 16. I got dared to do it and I fancied a girl in the class. I realised I liked moving to music and I liked the girl and it went on from there!

Lancashire Telegraph:

"Absolute complete novices can become professionals. These classes are 90 per cent cardio and 10 per cent dancing moves. People can get active just from one hour, to the point of near death which is good because the body needs it.

"Instead of going to the gym and doing boring stuff, you can do something completely new and different for just one hour and get fit."

The high-intensity six-week course costs £40, and takes place between 7pm and 8pm every Wednesday.

As well as offering the obvious physical boost, freestyle dance has been linked to a decrease in the risk of dementia.

Richard Powers, a dance professor at Stanford University, said participants make quick decisions on how to move, reducing the risk of dementia 76 per cent more than other physical activities.
