MORE than 500 people in the Ribble Valley have been left without power this afternoon following a fault.

Electricity North West said that 560 people in Waddington, Dunsop Bridge and Newton-in-Bowland have been affected by the outage.

The supplier also said that it was caused by a fault with an over-head cable.

Engineers are currently en-route to the fault.

A spokesman said: “We are hoping that power can be restored to a large number of our customers in these villages as soon as possible.

“We would look to do that by re-routing the power through other lines.

“This would enable people to have power sooner rather than later.

“We apologise for any inconvenience.

“There is no suggestion that the fault was caused by vandalism.”
