MUMS-to-be can now attend an antenatal clinic after work.

A new Wednesday evening clinic has been launched at the Birthing Unit at Rossendale Primary Health Care Centre in Rawtenstall, from 5pm to 8pm. The midwife-led unit was opened in January 2011 and is approaching its 150th birth.

Frances Murphy, company secretary at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, told the trust board: “The clinics are part of a drive to offer women plenty of choice and one-to-one support. Designed for uncomplicated births, the unit also has music with staff using techniques like hypnotherapy to relax their soon-to-be mum.”
