A WOMAN who had just completed a positive pregnancy test went to speak to her estranged husband and discovered his new girlfriend was with him.

Blackburn magistrates heard Sandra Mollet ‘lost her self control’ and repeatedly punched her husband who had come out to speak to her, locking the door behind him.

Mollet was demanding the other woman came out before she punched her husband repeatedly.

Mollet, 42, of Stansfield Street, Darwen, pleaded guilty to assaulting Craig Mollet. She was given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £100 costs.

Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said Mr Mollet claimed the relationship had ended nine months earlier and he had formed a new relationship.

“There have been issues with the defendant because of that and messages were put on his new partner’s Facebook page,” said Miss Allan.

“On this day she turned up at his door kicking and banging and making threats to his new partner.”

Miss Allan said Mr Mollet went out of the house, locking the door behind him, and tried to calm his estranged wife.

“She was demanding that his new partner came out and then punched him,” said Miss Allan. “He didn’t respond and she continued to hit him.”

Imran Hussain, defending, said his client said although they had separated they remained married and she had been misled by Mr Mollet.

“She had a positive pregnancy test and the only person who could be the father was the complainant,” said Mr Hussain. “She went to speak to him and saw his new girlfriend’s car was there. She accepts she lost her self-control.”

Mr Hussain said his client accepted the relationship had broken down and she intended to file for divorce.
