A RADIO producer who stole a Blackburn woman’s internet photos to use on a dating website has reportedly left his job at Capital Xtra.

According to industry website Radio Today, Stuart Grant left the station with immediate effect following the incident.

The producer, who worked for Capital Xtra in London, used photos of 21-year-old Beckie Livesey to make an online profile.

Miss Livesey, who lives in Willis Road, Feniscowles, said the pictures were used to create profiles on dating website Plenty of Fish, as well as social networking site Facebook.

She was only made aware of Mr Grant’s actions after an IT worker he was chatting to online grew suspicious and traced the images back to their original source.

The IT worker tracked down Miss Livesey, who found the culprit was Mr Grant and challenged him on LinkedIn, a social media website used by business professionals for networking.

Speaking to the Lancashire Telegraph last week, she said: “I just felt shocked and, when I realised he had sent nude photos of other women from the neck down pretending to be me, I felt scared my reputation was on the line.

“Stuart Grant could have spoken to someone who thought it was genuinely me. It’s quite scary to think someone can easily pretend to be me.

“I’m now changing all my settings on Facebook to private.”

In a statement to the Lancashire Telegraph following the incident, Mr Grant said: “I am incredibly sorry for my actions. I am ashamed, and understand that I've caused upset and therefore apologise unreservedly.”

Yesterday, a spokeswoman for Capital Xtra said the company would not be making any comment or releasing a statement following Mr Grant’s reported departure from the station.
