CANNABIS plants with a street value of more than £4,500 were seized by police in a dawn raid at a house in Crawshawbooth.

Police said the property in York Street was being rented specifically to grow the plants in. There were 100 mature plants, with a street value of between £450 and £700 each.

Officers also seized a sophisticated set up for growing plants.

The warrant followed tip-offs from local people.

No arrests were made and the investigation is ongoing.

PC Neil Gregson, community beat manager for Greensclough ward, thanked the residents for contacting their neighbourhood policing team.
