A PRE-school has been rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted.
Kittens Pre-School in Darwen was described as providing a ‘lively environment’ which develops key skills.
Inspector Frank Kelly said staff at the Veronica Street facility were enthusiastic about giving young children a great experince.
He said: “The excellent organisation of the playrooms and outdoor play area provide children with a wealth of fun learning experiences.
“Well-planned, adult-led activities ensure that children make rapid progress in their learning.
“Teaching is rooted in a very good knowledge of how children learn.”
He added that staff were ‘enthusiastic and warm’ and said: “The welcome from staff effectively underpins the children's sense of belonging and security. The ongoing engagement of parents means staff are familiar with children’s specific needs and interests.
“The strong bonds formed enable the children to be happy and confident to play and learn throughout their day.” Leadership was praised as constantly seeking to improve.
Mr Kelly added: “The team spirit is very good and the staff work harmoniously together. This effective practice creates a pleasant and very safe place for children to be.”
