HOLLYWOOD glamour came to a Rawtenstall high school for the filming of a music video for girl band Arizona’s charity single, Electricity.

Director of photography Mike Drury, who has been the cameraman on videos for Queen and Robbie Williams and also blockbuster films The Inbetweeners and Horrid Henry: The Movie, volunteered to come to Alder Grange High School to help oversee the production.

The girl band – consisting of ag6 students Jess Haworth, Sophie Wooding and Jess Watts with opera singer and Year 11 student Grace O’Malley making a guest appearance – were up at 6am to shoot the video in their school gym in one day.

Mike became involved after receiving an email from David Heywood, Alder Grange’s leader of creative, expressive and performing arts.

Mike said: “I wanted to give something back and was glad to be involved. I have tweaked a few things, but it has all gone really well.”

English teacher Danny Williams, who wrote the track, said: “It’s weird to see it going from me in my house with a guitar to a full single with harmonies.”

Electricity, will be released via the school’s Alderbeat Records label, on July 14, And it will be available on iTunes, Amazon, and play.com. All proceeds will go to Petal Cancer Research.
