THE council is set to waive contract procedure rules in order to print leaflets outlining Hyndburn’s First World War commemoration programme.
The council wants to give the printing contract to Burnley firm Scott Dawson without a formal tendering process, documents show.
They read: “The special nature of this task has meant the council needed a specialist design and print company who could work well with these people, in order to produce a professional-looking leaflet which is historically accurate.
“Scott Dawson of Burnley has been working with the council to develop such a leaflet.
“It is considered that this company be awarded the work.”
