A TRIBUTE concert is set to be held in the Ribble Valley for a former mayor who died last year.
John Travis, 79, who lived in Bashall Eaves, served on the council from 1987 until 1999, representing Simonstone ward and died in November 2013.
The father-of-four, stepfather-of-three and grandfather to 13 children was born and brought up in Liverpool and served as the borough’s 19th mayor from 1992 to 1993.
He was awarded an MBE in January 2005 for his outstanding efforts for people across Lancashire.
The concert will be held at Knowle Green village hall on Thursday from noon and will include performances from Tim Jackson (French Horn), Ian Buckle (Piano) and Gaynor Sutcliffe (Violin).
