Video games inspire Blackburn artists

A PRIVATE preview of a new exhibition in Blackburn that celebrates retro video games will be held on Sunday.

‘Pixel Lust’, held at Blackburn is Open Arts Centre in King William Street, will showcase work by seven local artists influenced by video games of the 20th century.

The special preview event, from 5pm to 8pm, will include a free drinks reception, retro sweets, gallery tour and a chance to meet the artists.

DJ and producer Esbeesy will provide the entertainment.

The exhibition will run from March 10 to March 16.

Curator Alex Martindale said: “The creativity involved in making a few pixels into dynamic characters inspired a generation of artists.”
