AN INVESTIGATION was launched after a woman claimed she was raped in an alleyway.

The 25-year-old told police that she was grabbed from behind by two men in Railway Road, in Darwen, at around 1.30am yesterday after a night out.

Forensic tests were completed and officers also carried out CCTV inquiries.

They found that there was no evidence an assault had taken place.
