CHILDREN’S books are to be the theme of the inaugural Gisburn Scarecrow Festival this summer.
The organising committee of the event, which will be held on Saturday, June 28, and Sunday, June 29, have said that groups are welcome to make and display their scarecrows around the village.
There will be a prize for the best scarecrow and refreshments will be served in the village hall from 10am to 4pm.
A trail map will be available to guide people around the village on the day.
The plans were discussed at a recent meeting at Gisburn Festival Hall.
