SHOPPERS in Pendle have voted the Green Chimney, in Colne, as the borough’s best independent shop. Residents nominated and voted for their favourite shop in a competition started by Pendle MP Andrew Stephenson. He said: “It’s fitting that so many people voted for the Green Chimney after the work the Hook family have put in to bringing a derelict shop back into use that had been an eyesore for many years.” In the individual town awards the winners were: Decisions Decisions (Barnoldswick), Creative Gifts (Nelson), Green Chimney (Colne), Barrowford Pet Store, (Barrowford), Kraftwork Precious Metals (Barrowford) and X Transmission bike shop (Earby).
