PENDLE MP Andrew Stephenson has welcomed a clearer focus by NHS England on improving outcomes for people with long-term conditions such as Parkinson’s disease.
It follows news from East Lancashire Clinical Commissioning Group that the area is to get its own dedicated Parkinson’s nurse.
Mr Stephenson has supported residents and the Parkinson’s UK charity in their campaign to get a dedicated nurse for the condition.
He said: “I am delighted the campaign was successful, and this latest news on how the NHS can be made more responsive to patients needs will mean improved services for Parkinson’s sufferers in East Lancashire.”
