TEAM members at The Mall Blackburn presented Derian House Children’s Hospice with a cheque for more than £2,000 following a charity walk from Houndshill Shopping Centre in Blackpool to The Mall, in July last year.
Staff donned charity T-shirts and made the 26-mile journey over a period of 11 hours after Gareth Stead Clark and Ken Brogden from The Mall’s security team came up with the idea.
Gareth said: “We thought the sponsored walk would be a fun way to generate much needed funds for a great cause.
“And hopefully it has raised awareness of the work Derian House Children’s Hospice does along the way.
“It was also quite challenging and there were a few achy muscles after the event, but the reward has definitely outweighed the pain."
Loraine Jones, general manager at The Mall Blackburn, said: “We are extremely proud of all the team for going that extra mile for charity.”
