THE man who died after his car hit a barrier on an M65 sliproad near Blackburn has been named as 48-year-old Peter Warburton.

Mr Warburton, who was from Blackburn, was travelling in a silver Mazda 3 on the eastbound sliproad at junction six, just off Whitebirk Roundabout, when he fell ill at the wheel.

A post mortem examination has been carried out and Michael Singleton, coroner for Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley, found he died from natural causes.

The crash happened at 11.30am on January 3 and a slip road was closed while police recovered the car.

The accident came six weeks after Mark Burgess, of Abbey Village, died after his car hit a barrier near junction eight on November 28.

The 39-year-old HGV driver, who was born in Burnley, was thrown from his Citroen Saxo.
