THE latest set of temporary traffic lights on Railway Road, Blackburn, for Cathedral Quarter works should be moved later today.
They have moved to the Salford end of the street from opposite the Adelphi pub and Morrisons, and are now on the Mall side of the pedestrian crossing.
The works are to allow the highway to be dug up to divert services such as gas and electricity mains, sewers and water mains off the construction site. Cathedral Quarter development manager, Clare Turner, said: “The temporary traffic lights on Railway Road are in place to help facilitate the service provision of utilities for the forthcoming Cathedral Quarter development.
“These lights will hopefully only be in place until Friday”
Council regeneration boss, Maureen Bateson, said: “The temporary traffic lights on Railway Road are to help the development of the Cathedral Quarter.
“I ask motorists and pedestrians to be patient.
“I look forward to the opening of the Cathedral Quarter.”
