A TREE could be cut back at a Briercliffe church after it was found to be overhanging graves.
Alec Oldham, churchwarden at St James’s Church, has notified Burnley Council of his intention to prune a large limb from a beech tree.
The tree, adjacent to the church entrance in Harrison Street, is hanging over the pathway and is due to be removed on the advice of a tree expert.
Planning permission is needed as the site falls within Harle Syke Conservation Area.
