Burnley's 'community plan' agreed by councillors
5:56pm Thursday 17th October 2013 in News
BURNLEY councillors have agreed an updated version of a ‘community plan’ which sets out the borough’s hopes and aspirations for the coming years.
The community strategic document, which lists its priority as ‘creating a more prosperous borough which is cleaner, greener and safer’, has been altered ro reflect what the council’s executive called ‘cuts to government grants and shrinking budgets’.
Mick Cartledge, chairman of the Burnley Action Partnership (BAP) executive, said: “Given the ever-increasing financial challenges facing all partners, it’s more important than ever to make sure public, private and voluntary sectors work closely together to ensure ever more scarce resources are used efficiently and effectively.
“By having coherent strategies we are all better placed to make the most of the many opportunities Burnley presents to would-be investors, visitors, and families looking to make our borough their home.”
