Coroner to examine Burnley woman's ‘mystery’ death
9:55am Friday 20th September 2013 in News
THE ‘unexplained’ death of a Burnley woman has been reported to the East Lancashire coroner.
Deborah Moss, 45, died on Tuesday at her home in Hunslet Street.
A post-mortem examination was carried out on her body yesterday and a toxicology report was asked for.
Ms Moss, a former Towneley High School pupil, was discovered slumped on her living room floor with blood around her head by her neighbour Josef Zichacek.
Mr Zichacek, 47, found the body after he returned home from Burnley’s game against Birmingham on Tuesday night. He said he found Ms Moss’s body after he noticed the front door of her terrace home in Hunslet Street was wide open.
Neighbours said Ms Moss had lived at three different houses in Hunslet Street and had been in her present one for ‘a few months’.
A spokesman for Lancashire police said: “An investigation has been launched to establish exactly what has happened and the death is being treated as unexplained.”
