Family fundraiser to take place in aid of sick Bacup toddler
2:43pm Tuesday 27th August 2013 in News
A FAMILY fundraiser in aid of a toddler from Bacup with leukaemia is being held on Saturday.
The event, which will feature a bouncy castle, face painting, stalls and games, is for two-and-a-half-year-old Anna Brooks, who was diagnosed with the disease three weeks ago.
The youngster has attended Blossoms Private Day Nursery in Todmorden Road, Bacup, where the event will be held, since she was eight months old.
Carol Godfrey, manager of the centre, said: “Anna has blossomed into a beautiful confident little girl.
“Staff and children here love her and have missed her being here while she's been away.
“We are all looking forward to seeing her back with us very soon.”
Raffle prizes donated by local businesses and individuals include beauty vouchers, free MOTs, a TV/DVD combo set, an Android phone, wine, food and sweet hampers, dance lessons and more.
The event will run from 10am to 4pm. All funds raised will go to CLIC (Cancer and Leukaemia in Children).
