Blackburn is set to be hotter than the Spanish capital this week as temperatures are expected to climb.

After a period of wet and chilly weather, the UK is set to experience finer conditions as the week goes on.

In Blackburn with Darwen, temperatures are set to peak at 18°C on Thursday (May 2). This is set to be warmer than Madrid, where temperatures are forecast to reach 14°C.

According to the Met Office, the rest of the week will be largely dry with sunny spells in the borough.

The weather for the bank holiday weekend is also set to be fine, with sunny intervals and peak temperatures of 16°C.

A Met Office spokesperson said: “Turning drier as we move into May but showers remain possible. It will feel warmer than of late with spells of sunshine.

“Temperatures often somewhat above average but also breezy at times.”
