A man is to stand trial after denying he intentionally strangled a woman.
Matthew Loughlin, 30, appeared at Burnley Crown Court charged on seven different counts, which also included threatening a man with a hammer.
The offences are all alleged to have happened on March 23.
Loughlin, of Blucher Street, Colne, pleaded not guilty to damaging property; two counts of threatening someone with an offensive weapon in a private place; common assault; strangulation; and two counts of theft.
Judge Ian Unsworth set a trial date of September 23. It is anticipated the trial will last around three days.
Loughlin was remanded in custody until the trial.
